We provide Hidalgo County with our experience and innovation with our full-service offices located in Edinburg and McAllen. Edwards offers extended title insurance services in the Mission and Weslaco markets through dedicated team members. In 2010, we expanded our service area to Cameron County with three convenient offices operating in Brownsville, Harlingen and South Padre Island.

INNOVATION FROM THE VERY BEGINNING
Edwards Abstract and Title Co. was founded in 1880 and takes pride in serving the title insurance needs of the South Texas region. With our rich history and more than 140 years in the business, our passion is our purpose: overseeing transactions for our clients as the Rio Grande Valley continues to grow.

Since our founding, Edwards Abstract and Title Co. has taken great strides to be recognized as a leader in the title insurance industry operating as the second eldest title company in Texas, the first title company in the Rio Grande Valley, and the largest independently owned title insurance provider in the South Texas region. The company was the first in Hidalgo County to offer the convenience of multiple branch offices. We were also the first to offer customers a transaction management system that provides users the convenience of viewing order statuses online beyond the boundaries of business hours. Edwards is also the first title insurance company to implement E-Recording in cooperation with the Hidalgo County Clerk’s Office.

Many members of the Edwards Team are recognized for their volunteer spirit and giving back to the communities they serve by contributing their time and energy to volunteer in local organizations, such as: the local Chambers of Commerce, Rotary Clubs, Kiwanis Clubs, Lions Clubs, Greater McAllen Association of Realtors, Women’s Council of Realtors, Rio Grande Valley Builders Association and Hidalgo County Bar Association and many other civic and non-profit groups. Byron Jay Lewis has also served on the board of directors of the Texas Land Title Association
